Best EL Reliever Named Sunday, November 12th , 2023 Sapporo Snow Leopards closer Thomas McIlraith said he loves to come into the game when the outcome is in jeopardy. He certainly did a good job of impacting his team's outcomes this season, as he has been named the winner of the 2023 Reliever of the Year Award for the Eastern League. "There's no better feeling than running in from the bullpen with the game on the line and your heart pumping," McIlraith said. On the season, the Amarillo, Texas native had 44 saves in 63 relief appearances, 81 strikeouts in 65.2 innings and a record of 3 wins and 1 loss to go with his 0.82 ERA. He received 19 first place votes out of a possible 20.
