Thursday, July 13th , 2023
At the age of 14, Andres Zuno of the Nashville HS Jammers could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2023 was good enough to win the first baseman the Conference 1 Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .449 batting average this year, as well as a .521 on-base percentage. He played 79 games and racked up 159 hits, 29 doubles, 4 triples, 47 home runs, 183 RBIs and 116 runs scored.
He received 16 first place votes out of a possible 20. Jesus Ibarra of the Oakland HS Foxes finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Jorge Moreno of the New York HS Diablos finished third.
