Luis Quintana Wins 2023 SL1 Batting Crown Thursday, June 22nd , 2023 Luis Quintana was born to be a ballplayer. "Pops always said I learned to swing a bat before I learned to walk." Quintana, the 14-year-old Brownsville HS second baseman, really displayed his hitting ability this past season. His .474 batting average led all Conference 1 hitters. He collected 129 hits, socked 10 home runs, scored 80 runs and drove in 83 runs. The SL1's top batter also played in 67 games, had 24 doubles, no triples and walked 43 times. |
