Fighting Lions Captures Wild Card Monday, June 19th , 2023 The Garden Grove HS Fighting Lions certainly made things interesting. The East Division club have battled to the bitter end and have come up with a wild card berth. "It's satisfying to clinch the playoffs so late in the season," said closer Julio Gallegos. "You start to doubt yourself and wonder if you can even make it." But the Fighting Lions have in fact made it, with their 40-40 record holding up to now give them a chance at the franchise's 1st High School Elite League championship. |
