Thurman Pynn Wallops 3 Homers for Chicks Sunday, June 18th , 2023 Oceanside HS Chicks left fielder Thurman Pynn sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Las Vegas HS Stallions, Pynn told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Pynn pushed the Chicks past the Stallions, 25-6. To go along with the homers, he collected 7 RBIs and scored 5 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Pynn told reporters after the game. Thurman Pynn walked in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Lucas Baum in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Richard van Ooijen in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Frazer Yakubu in the 9th. Pynn is hitting at a .353 mark this season. His stats show 21 home runs, 68 RBIs and 62 runs scored. He has played 58 games for the Chicks. |
