Madera Belts 5 Hits Thursday, June 8th , 2023 Juan Madera really sizzled at the plate in today's 22-7 win over Royals. The Santa Ana HS second baseman blistered Portland HS for 5 hits in 7 at-bats. "Madera was too tough to get out today," the Royals skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Juan Madera grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Harri Brehmer in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jai Sproule in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Russell Delzoppo in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. For the season, Madera is hitting at a .419 clip with 4 home runs, 30 RBIs and has scored 27 runs. He has 36 hits, 16 walks and a .514 on-base percentage. |
