But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Lubbock College Devils rising star has won the Conference 1 Reliever of the Year Award for 2023. He captured the award on the strength of his 2.77 ERA over 39 innings. He also had 3 saves in 18 relief appearances, 35 strikeouts and only 16 walks. He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 20. Kazuyoshi Kojima of the Jackson College Hammerheads finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Areda Olamina of the Lubbock College Devils finished third with 1 first place vote.
