Aguilar Raps Dallas College for 5 Hits Friday, April 14th , 2023 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Alvaro Aguilar, it came around today. The 17-year-old first baseman scattered hits all over Steamrollers Park to pace the Overland Park College Steamrollers to a 11-10 victory over the Dallas College Cowboys. Dallas College skipper Eric Frye told reporters in the press room that "Aguilar deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Aguilar hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Alvaro Aguilar singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Tewase Dirie in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tewase Dirie in the 5th and singled in the 7th. For the year Aguilar is batting .370 with 17 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 8 times and driven in 13. |
