Klocek Selected SL1's Top Pitcher Friday, July 21st , 2023 The votes are in for the 2023 Conference 1 Pitcher of the Year Award. It has been bestowed on Dave Klocek of the Tucson College Mounties. The 16-year-old Mounties ace finished the year with a 5-2 mark, logged 19 starts, threw 77.1 innings, yielded 91 hits, struck out 88 and held the opposition to a .288 batting average. He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Steve Dawson of the Orlando College Spikes finished second in voting, while Eddy Esquivel of the Grand Rapids College Storm finished third.
