Injury Brings Season to End for Kent
Wednesday, August 16th , 2023
"Not what I wanted to hear," said Quad Cities's Matthew Kent to reporters this afternoon, as he revealed that the injury he sustained on 08/15/2023 would force him to miss the rest of the season. "The doctor made it clear," Kent said. "There's no chance for me -- none at all -- to come back this year. That's the last thing I wanted to hear." Kent has been out of action since he suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow.
Kent has taken the mound for 35 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 0-3 record with a 6.28 ERA. The Quad Cities reliever has limited opposing batters to a .305 batting average.
