GONE! GONE! GONE! 3 HRs for DeLauter Tuesday, July 25th , 2023 Chase DeLauter brutalized the Toledo Mud Hens pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 23-4 victory at Huntington Park. The Columbus Clippers left fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-5 with 8 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "Too much Chase DeLauter today," Mud Hens manager Anthony Iapoce said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Chase DeLauter hit a three-run home run off Beau Brieske in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Tyler Holton in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Jack Anderson in the 8th. Thus far this year DeLauter has hit .206 with 4 home runs and 11 RBIs. |
