IronPigs Guthrie Smacks 5 Hits Tuesday, June 6th , 2023 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Dalton Guthrie today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Victory Field and paced the IronPigs to a 11-7 win over the Indianapolis Indians. After his dynamite batting performance, the Lehigh Valley second baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Dalton Guthrie singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Quinn Priester in the 9th. Hitting .236 to date, Guthrie has 7 home runs and 32 RBIs. He has played in 61 games. |
