Twins Pull Even With 4-2 Victory
|
Minnesota picked up a win at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, bumping off the Baltimore Orioles, 4-2. Pitcher Kenta Maeda was a major reason the Twins emerged victorious. Maeda, now 1-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Jhoan Duran picked up the save, his 9th.
Minnesota used the clutch hitting of Carlos Correa to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Twins the lead, 3-2. For the game, Correa had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"I'm proud to wear a Minnesota jersey," Maeda told the Minnesota Bulletin. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
The win puts Minnesota at 18-18.
