Close Win Moves Astros to 9-5
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees.
New York designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-4, to Houston at Minute Maid Park. Stanton was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Jose Urquidy, the winning pitcher, is now 2-1. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 0.
Kyle Tucker was 1-4 with a double. He scored 2 runs for Houston. The 26-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Domingo Germán. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Houston manager Dave D. Double Dip #1.
The Astros raised their record to 9-5.
