Cardinals Deal Mets 4-3 Loss
|
St. Louis designated hitter Paul DeJong made his presence felt in the 4-3 Cardinals triumph over the New York Mets. DeJong was 3-4 with a home run and a double. The win elevated the Cardinals to 99-63.
St. Louis won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Adam Ottavino on the mound for New York, third baseman Nolan Arenado hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Cardinals fans to their feet.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Arenado said.
