Phillies Collect 3-1 Win Versus Pittsburgh
|
The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 3-1, at PNC Park. Starting pitcher Bailey Falter was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Jose Alvarado recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 36 for 40. The Phillies bumped their record to 77-62 with this latest triumph.
Also having an impact was first baseman Darick Hall, who stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth for Philadelphia. For the game, Hall went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
Afterward, Phillies manager Tyler Mxnstur was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
