Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Buffalo Bulls and Montreal Expos.

Montreal got a big-time effort from pitcher Sean Hjelle, but it wasn't enough to keep the Buffalo Bulls from winning the game, 6-4. Hjelle threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Buffalo reliever Ronel Blanco picked up the win, upping his record to 4-6. Sean Newcomb shouldered the loss.

Buffalo needed the clutch hitting of Jorge Alfaro to notch the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Bulls on top, 6-4. For the game, Alfaro had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Montreal manager Dave D. Expos.

The Expos have now dropped 5 straight.
