Flames Pull Even With 15-5 Victory
New York second baseman Chase Strumpf was sensational. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Tucson beat the Americans, 15-5. Tucson reliever Chase De Jong was credited with the win, to go to 5-1. Adam Scott took the loss for New York. The victory gives the Flames a record of 74-74.

The Flames got a big at-bat from first baseman Daniel Murphy. For the game, Murphy went 2 for 5 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 23rd double of the season gave Tucson a 5-4 lead.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Murphy told the Tucson Observer.
