The Columbus Black Sox beat the Portland Storm, 3-2. Columbus pitcher and Lewisburg, Tennessee, native Mike Minor led the way. In 7.1 innings, Minor surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Pierce Johnson converted his 13th save in 13 tries.

Columbus took a 3-2 lead on Tyler Hill's 23rd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Hill hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Portland pitcher Rubby De La Rosa visibly frustrated.

"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Hill.

The National Division-leading Black Sox are 98-46.
