Texans Win in Glorious Fashion, 5-4
|
The San Antonio Texans took Tucson pitcher Brendan Beck's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Texans Field. The final score had San Antonio getting past the Flames, 5-4. Beck went 5 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 3. San Antonio reliever Jeff Hoffman got the win, raising his record to 5-2. Tyler Rogers was tagged with the loss. The win puts San Antonio at 49-88.
The Texans procured the win, in large part because of center fielder Tyrone Taylor. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
Taylor said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
