Noda Stars for Red Aces in 9-5 Win
|
Las Vegas left fielder Ryan Noda helped his team beat the Salt Lake City Lightning, 9-5. Noda, who leads the NL in extra base hits with 35, went 3 for 5 for the Red Aces. Tyler Beede got the win, improving to 8-7. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Antonio Velez earned his 15th save in 18 chances.
Noda contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Las Vegas in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Noda took a changeup from Anthony Kay and stroked the double to right. His 22nd double of the season allowed the Red Aces to leap in front, 5-3.
In postgame comments to the Las Vegas News, Noda said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The Red Aces own a robust 65-35 mark.
