Black Sox Dump Titans, 4-1
|
Behind an impressive start by Patrick Corbin, Columbus beat Vancouver, 4-1. Corbin picked up the win for Columbus, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 8-4. Colin Selby was credited with the save for Columbus, his 23rd of the season.
Columbus used a well-timed hit by Jed Lowrie to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Black Sox ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
"The vibe's good," said Columbus manager Jason Bell. "We've got to keep it going."
The second-place Black Sox have won 4 in a row.
