Ian Happ did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Chicago Cubs from losing, 8-6, to the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Happ hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Cincinnati pitcher Reiver Sanmartin got the win, upping his record to 4-2. Justin Steele got the loss. Cincinnati's record now stands at 47-62, placing them 13th in the National Division.

In the bottom of the sixth, Cincinnati designated hitter Matt McLain put his team on top. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit his 7th double of the year. Chicago pitcher Michael Rucker served it up. Just like that, the Reds were ahead, 4-3.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," McLain said.
