16-K Masterpiece for Thorpe
Everything was working for Lewis Thorpe today at Ballpark of Istanbul. He had the perfect delivery. The ball was moving. The curveball was working.

In an unforgettable performance, the 27-year-old Thorpe fanned 16 Conquerors and sparked the London Redcoats to a 1-0 victory over Istanbul. He left Conquerors hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it.

"I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said London manager Dietrich Blum. "His location and command were really something."

In addition to collecting 16 strikeouts over 8 innings, Thorpe allowed 2 hits and no walks in a superlative outing.

"I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Thorpe said with a smile.

Checking out his stats for the season, Thorpe has racked up 18 wins and 5 losses in 29 starts, posted a 0.83 ERA, and struck out 336 batters in 227.1 innings.
