The party is on for Taipei Thunder Gods fans, while disappointment reigns for those fans in Beijing.

The Thunder Gods eliminated the Beijing Guard in the Round 1 at Thunder Gods Stadium today and will now move on to the Round 2.

"It's a big letdown and not what we want to be feeling," said Beijing manager Takanibu Fukuda after the loss.

Taipei won the final game by a score of 6-2 and took the series 4-2.

"We want to bring a championship home to our city, that's all there is to it. Everyone wants it badly for themselves, but we want it for Taipei too," said Hsien-feng Wan, whose strong pitching performances during the series earned him MVP honors.

Wan had a 0.00 ERA over 12 innings during the Round 1. He added 13 strikeouts with a 2-0 record.

The Round 2 matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
