Eagles Prevail, as League Championship Series Goes to the Wire
Caribbean Diamond Association pundits who figured the League Championship Series between the Santiago Eagles and Havana Elephants would go the distance were right on the mark.

The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Santiago coming out on top thanks to a 7-6 win in the deciding game at Eagles Field, to wrap things up 4-3.

"You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Eagles first baseman Enrique Valdez, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Valdez had 12 hits for a .387 average. He had 0 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The World Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
