Busch Stadium was the site of the home opener for the St. Louis Cardinals. The contest featured a prime matchup between Kodai Senga of the visiting New York Mets and Jordan Montgomery of the Cardinals. The final score was 3-2, the Mets getting the win. Jordan Montgomery turned in the best performance. New York reliever Brooks Raley picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Matt Moore was saddled with the loss.

New York used the timely hitting of Francisco Lindor to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mets on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Tough loss," said St. Louis manager Mike Shore. "But we'll learn from it."
