Sandwell Goes 7-for-7 Against Omaha HS
Jacksonville HS third baseman Zack Sandwell had a fantastic day at the plate at Vandals Park today, knocking out 7 hits and pacing his club to a 23-22 victory.

"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Sandwell said after his 7-for-7 performance against the Atomics. "No offense meant to Omaha HS, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid park, it was Vandals Park."

After the game, his manager elaborated on the third baseman's improvements, saying Sandwell spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.

"That's what I'm trying to do," Sandwell said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."

Zack Sandwell singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Esteban Robles in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Luis Reynoso in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

For the year Sandwell is batting .358 with 14 home runs.
