White Sox Best Twins in Pitching Duel
|
In a low-scoring contest, Chicago pitcher Sean Burke was marvelous in his team's 2-0 win. Aaron Bummer, now 5-3, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The losing streak for Minnesota has now reached 5 games.
The White Sox got a big at-bat from left fielder Andrew Benintendi. For the game, Benintendi was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Minnesota manager Jim Double Dip #1.
