The first-place Houston Astros took on the Minnesota Twins in front of a spirited crowd.

Led by Chas McCormick, the Houston Astros downed the Minnesota Twins, 5-3. McCormick went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Astros. Houston reliever Phil Bickford was credited with the win, to go to 3-1. Pablo Lopez took the loss for Minnesota. Ryan Pressly recorded the save, making him 45 for 54.

McCormick had a timely hit for Houston in the bottom of the seventh. With Minnesota trailing 2-1, he turned a full count cutter into a 2-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season, making it 3-2, Houston.

"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said McCormick.

The Astros lead the American Division by 3½ games.
