Royals Need Extra Frames to Get Past Yankees
The Kansas City Royals withstood an impressive performance by New York catcher Jose Trevino to defeat the Yankees, 6-4, at Yankee Stadium. Trevino was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kansas City reliever Scott Barlow picked up the win, upping his record to 4-6. Michael King shouldered the loss. Aroldis Chapman locked down his 4th save.

The Royals got an important contribution from second baseman Jakson Reetz, who in the top of the tenth punched a first pitch slider into left-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Royals ahead, 6-4.

"Big win," said Reetz.

The Royals go to 68-75, putting them 11th in the American Division.
