Win Makes Astros 83-56
|
The Houston Astros weathered a fine game by New York left fielder Franchy Cordero to upend the Yankees, 8-4, at Yankee Stadium. Cordero went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Hunter Brown. He tossed 79 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. Houston now has a 3-game win streak.
With no one out in the top of the fifth, Chas McCormick put Houston in front, 6-4, with a 2-run single. The Astros went on to win the ballgame.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said McCormick. "And not try to do too much."
