Tampa Bay Defeated by Texas, 3-1
|
Tampa Bay got a valiant performance from pitcher Shane McClanahan, but it wasn't enough to beat the Texas Rangers. Texas won the game, 3-1. McClanahan threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Glenn Otto got credit for the win, improving to 6-4. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 5 innings. Texas raised its record to 76-62 with the win.
With two out in the bottom of the third, Marcus Semien put Texas in front, 2-1, with a run-scoring single. The Rangers went on to win the ballgame.
"Winning is always a team effort," Semien said after the game.
