Kauffman Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Cleveland Guardians and Kansas City Royals.

The Kansas City Royals picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, knocking off the Cleveland Guardians, 3-1. Starting pitcher Kohl Stewart was a big reason why. The 11th-place Royals improved to 50-61.

The Royals got an important contribution from left fielder Edward Olivares, who in the bottom of the second punched a 3-0 fastball into left-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Royals ahead, 2-0.

"Tough loss," said Cleveland manager Terry Francona. "But we'll learn from it."
