It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Frederick Keys, that meant the Carolina League Round 2 trophy.

The Keys took a 1-0 victory over the Winston-Salem Dash at BB&T Ballpark, winning their 6th championship after taking the series 3-1.

"We've got grit," said Keys closer Chris Aparicio, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to."

The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Northern Division and a 89-51 record.
