Appalachian League pundits who figured the Round 2 between the Bluefield Blue Jays and Gatlinburg Predators would go the distance were right on the mark.

The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Bluefield coming out on top thanks to a 3-2 win in the deciding game at Gatlinburg Stadium, to wrap things up 3-2.

"You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Blue Jays center fielder Eddie Lang, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Lang had 11 hits for a .550 average. He had 0 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Bluefield Blue Jays will play against the Johnson City Fossils in the next round. Johnson City won their series against the Blowing Rock Fly Fishers 3 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
