It's not often a losing player is named MVP of a series, but that's the situation Freddy Velasquez found himself in tonight, as the Bluefield Blue Jays beat his Charleston Loggers to advance to the Round 2.

Bluefield won the final game by a score of 9-2 at Chase Field and took the series 2-0.

Despite his strong performance, Velasquez was not taking many positives away from the series.

"I'm glad I played well, sure, but what good does it do us now?"

The Bluefield Blue Jays will play against the Gatlinburg Predators in the next round. Gatlinburg had a bye in the Round 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
