Giants Advance to Round 2
|
The San Jose Giants are off to the Round 2.
By a final score of 7-5 at Excite Ballpark, San Jose ended the Round 1 and knocked out the Visalia Rawhide by a series score of 4-2.
"Two great teams, only one can go on and we're happy that's us," said Bob Hamilton, who was named series MVP. "There's no easy games, no easy series in the California League playoffs."
For the series, Hamilton hit .280 with a .321 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 10 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The San Jose Giants will play against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in the next round. Rancho Cucamonga won their series against the Lancaster JetHawks 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
