Big Day with Bat: Barbati 5-for-9
Tuesday, February 11th , 2031
The 5th time was not the charm for Josh Barbati.
The left fielder for the Callaway Typhoon hit the milestone at Callaway Grounds, but it was the Coal Fork Big Cats that salvaged a 4-2 victory. Barbati finished with a 5-for-9 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough.
"He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Coal Fork manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win."
Barbati declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one."
Josh Barbati singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, flied out in the 8th, grounded out in the 11th, struck out in the 13th, doubled in the 16th and singled in the 17th.
This year, Barbati has batted at a .296 pace with 68 hits, 14 home runs, 44 RBIs and scored 40 times.
