Nixon Belts 5 Hits Tuesday, July 23rd , 2041 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Chris Nixon today -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Ballpark of Santa Ana, but the performance lost a little luster when the Black Diamonds were downed 4-3 by the Jersey City Ghosts. After his glittering performance, the Santa Ana second baseman told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat." His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too," Nixon said. Chris Nixon hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and grounded out in the 13th. This year Nixon is batting .341 with 1 home run and 8 RBIs. In 23 games he has scored 5 times. |
