Brewers Upend Padres, 3-1
|
The Milwaukee Brewers went home winners at Tony Gwynn Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Shane Baz. Baz stifled the San Diego Padres, enabling Milwaukee to grab the 3-1 win. Baz got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 5.1 innings. Baz allowed 1 run. Milwaukee, now 5-14, is off to a slow start.
Milwaukee relied on the bat of Connor Norby to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Brewers ahead, 3-1. For the game, Norby had 1 double and 1 triple in 3 at-bats.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Brewers manager Cody Carter, "I like our chances."
