Twins Collect 6-5 Win Over Mariners
|
Good production from first baseman Alfredo Correa helped the Minnesota Twins topple the Seattle Mariners, 6-5. Correa went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs for the Twins. Minnesota reliever Gregory Soto picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Nick Durgin was saddled with the loss. The save went to Alexis Diaz, number 2 for him.
Correa had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a first pitch fastball from Nick Durgin, he banged a solo home run to center, giving the Twins a 6-5 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Correa.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Twins manager Ryan Donaldson.
Minnesota, now 3-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
