New York got a decent performance from pitcher Brad Glynn, but it wasn't enough to beat the Philadelphia Phillies. Philadelphia won the Citizens Bank Park contest, 5-4. Glynn threw 6.2 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Philadelphia reliever Adolfo Ramirez got the win, raising his record to 5-5. Calvin Ziegler was tagged with the loss. The Phillies improved their record to 91-70 by beating New York.

Philadelphia got a knockout punch from Sean Brennan. The center fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Brennan told the Philadelphia Today.
