Twins Squelch Royals Offense in Shutout Win
The Minnesota Twins took on the Kansas City Royals at Target Field.

The exploits of first baseman Alfredo Correa, who finished 5th in the AL in batting average with .310 in 2026, helped the Minnesota Twins defeat the Kansas City Royals, 5-0. Correa hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Emiliano Teodo picked up the win, improving his season record to 11-6. He struck out 5 in 6 innings. Miguel Ullola earned the save, his 1st, for the Twins.

Correa had a key at-bat for Minnesota in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 32nd home run of the season and gave Minnesota an early 2-0 lead.

"I felt good about my swing," said Correa.

Minnesota now owns a record of 73-86.
