White Sox Take Down Expos, 4-3
|
The Chicago White Sox faced a tough opponent in Montreal pitcher Michael Lorenzen, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Guaranteed Rate Field by a final score of 4-3. Lorenzen went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. The winner was Freddy Tarnok in relief. His record improves to 7-5. Alex Vesia took the loss. Matt Brash finished the game for Chicago and earned his 36th save.
Had Daniel Susac not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Susac hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the White Sox.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Montreal manager Steve Spicol, "let me know."
The White Sox, at 76-74, sit in 4th place in the American League West Division.
