White Sox Use Late Surge to Win
|
The Chicago White Sox got a stellar effort from pitcher Freddy Tarnok, helping Chicago score a win over the visiting Oakland Athletics, 3-2, in 11 innings. The defeat makes Oakland 64-93.
Vaun Brown played the role of hero for Chicago. In the bottom of the 11th, he launched a solo home run off Dave Foltz to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.
"Everybody in here is a professional. You have to do what you have to do," said Brown.
