Brewers Edge Cubs, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs, Hogan Harris was the difference-maker. The Milwaukee left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Harris, the winner, moves to 1-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up no walks. The loss makes Chicago 87-68.
Alex Verdugo, the 32-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Verdugo contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Milwaukee up, 3-1.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Milwaukee manager Cody Carter.
