The Toronto Blue Jays turned back the Minnesota Twins, 6-5, at Rogers Centre. Taylor Ward, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Bryce Miller earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 6-3. Seth Johnson was credited with the save, his 8th in 11 tries.

Ward had a timely hit for Toronto in the bottom of the sixth. With Minnesota trailing 4-3, he turned a 2-1 changeup into a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Toronto.

"We found a way to get it done," Ward said.

The Blue Jays sport a record of 52-93.
