Mariners Take Down Rangers, 8-0
|
Seattle pitcher Luis Frias did his part in helping his team beat the Texas Rangers, 8-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Frias got the win, improving to 15-3. He gave up no hits and walked 5 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. The Mariners sit in second place in the American League AL West with a record of 86-67.
Seattle used the hitting of Nolan Arenado to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Mariners on top, 4-0. For the game, Arenado had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"No time for flexing," said Arenado. "It's always one game at a time."
