The Pittsburgh Pirates picked up a win at PNC Park, dropping the Texas Rangers, 5-3. Brad Falk, who is on pace for 220 strikeouts this season, was the difference-maker. The save was credited to Wagner Castillo, his 22nd. Pittsburgh bumps their record to 59-84 with the win.

Juan Fonseca, who is tied for 8th in the NL in doubles with 41, chipped in a run-scoring single for Pittsburgh in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
